About the Event
Join us for a Kinusaiga Workshop at Manlius Cantina! During this workshop your host, Ashe of Forged from Ashe Studios, will teach you the basics of Kinusaiga (pronounced “key-new-sigh-ga”), a modern Japanese art form that transforms fabric scraps into rich, dimensional artwork that resembles a quilt or fabric "painting". Ashe will teach you how to layer and tuck fabric into grooves on a foam board using vibrant fabrics, texture and traditional no-sew fabric inlay techniques to create a textile art masterpiece! Your completed piece will measure 8x8 in. Choose from a variety of templates including the pumpkin pictured, and more fall and Halloween-themed creations!
This event is also hosted in collaboration with Magpie Custom Creations, Ashe's studio neighbor in the Cortland Corset Building.
This workshop will be held in the private community room. You're welcome (and encouraged!) to purchase beverages and food from Manlius Cantina to fuel your creativity!
